Job Description:

The Oncology Data Engineer (ODE) reviews a variety of data sources to identify and abstract data elements needed to complete a longitudinal patient record for analyses.  The ODE will also work with the HEOR team to identify what data elements can be abstracted for projects and assist with the development of NLP tools to enhance data abstraction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and abstract all necessary data elements to complete a longitudinal patient record for individual projects or enterprise wide data sets. (70%)
  • Work with HEOR and analytics team to identify data sources for necessary variables. (10%)
  • Work with technology team on training and improving NLP tools to enhance data abstraction. (15%)
  • Other duties to be assigned (5%)

 Skills, Education and Additional Information

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience. 
  • CTR certification or other clinical degree (Nurse, Pharmacist, Med Tech, etc.)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology
  • Abstract experience required
  • Must have basic Microsoft office experience including word, excel, and PowerPoint.
