This position is responsible for reviewing clinical trial documents to determine if the study is a qualified clinical trial pursuant to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services policy, for reviewing and negotiating research budgets and for generating a Coverage Analysis and Billing Plan according to Medicare rules in order to build an internal cost-based budget. This position is also responsible for managing research contract negotiations with an understanding of institutional risk and engages leadership in business decisions key to obligation management of clinical trials.

Key Position Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school preferred
Six (6) years of experience (or equivalent education) in clinical research or related fields, preferably in coverage determinations, budgeting and contracts.Understanding of research billing regulations required.
Experience utilizing clinical literature to support determination of study protocol activities; able to read Medicare and coverage guidelines
Licensure/ Certification/ Registration - Must hold at least one of the below:
- Certification in clinical research from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA)
- Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP)
- Coding certification (i.e., Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC))
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
