CTCA's newest hospital is located in Newnan, Georgia which is located in the Metro Atlanta region. It is a 226,000-square-foot, all digital facility focused exclusively on treating cancer. It includes 50 beds, ICU rooms, surgical suites, state-of-the-art radiation and infusion therapy departments, outpatient clinic rehabilitation and physical therapy department and onsite residential accommodations for outpatients and their families. We are currently seeking dedicated Stakeholders to help us fulfill our Mission and provide the Mother Standard of Care® to patients in the Southeast.


The Physician Assistant is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for providing patient-focused health care. In this role, assessment, communication skills, and problems solving techniques are used to deliver quality care and to facilitate physician productivity. This highly respected role is also incremental in acting as a liaison for oncology patients and working in concert with clinic and case management staff in order to meet the clinical needs of patients.

In order to fulfill these responsibilities, the position will perform tasks as directed by the supervising physician and the supervisor or manager. In addition, the position performs only those clinical tasks he/she is capable of and within the scope of the supervising physician. Will comply with all hospital by-laws, rules and regulations. Have all entries in the medical record must be co-signed by the attending physician. Prescribes Category III and above drugs as indicated by state/federal licensing. Implement telephone orders for Category II drugs when a standing order is present. Provide orders under supervision of physician during assigned 'on call' duty.


See patients as directed by physician. Manages duties and responsibilities according to schedule and/or as instructed by MD and Manager. Writes or dictates daily progress notes, H + P's, diagnosis, discharge summaries. Performs rounds in Infusion Center and writes progress notes as appropriate or instructed by MD and Manager. Orders medication, treatment and evaluations with supervising physician. Acts as liaison between patient, RNs and physicians. Participates in endorsement meetings, tumor board, cancer committee meetings, nutrition meetings and other meetings as directed by the supervising physician. Performs daily rounds on patients as necessary and instructed by physician.


  • Current Georgia Physician Assistant license required for Physician Assistant candidates (or eligible for immediate Georgia licensure)
  • Completed a program approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education of the American Medical Association Council on Medical Education for the training of Physician Assistants; or Education programs on the Armed Forces of the United States, Public Health Service, or their successor agencies which meet the criteria specified by NCCPA. Successfully passing National Certification Examination. Maintains required number of CME hours as required by the professional organization for Physician Assistant candidates.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR and ACLS certifications required.
